A rare duo! I hadn’t made cups & saucers for 15 years, and thought it would be lovely to offer a special series. A deluxe clover cup ('cause it shapes your drink into a clover) more elaborate than usual paired with an equally elaborate saucer sets (pun!) the stage for daily enjoyment with your morning coffee or afternoon tea. This set is both sophisticated and joyful with a ground of dark pink setting off a cascade of lil flowers in white, pink, & olive, and glazed in a glossy ivory. Each side is slightly different and the set is perfect for everyday elegance.

Process:
I throw the cup & saucer on the potter’s wheel and then alter each by running my finger up the outside of the wall in four places which creates the overall clover shape, thus its nickname of ‘clover cup.’ The handles I make (two pieces) are hand-pulled and built for comfort, durability, AND elegance. No molds are used. I also decorate with slip-trailing (the clay version of cake decorating, which adds lovely texture and layers) & underglaze. Every cup is handmade by me alone, and is wheel-thrown, altered, trimmed, built, decorated, glazed, and fired twice for your using pleasure.

About:
- Cup: approx. 4" h x 6" l x 4 1/2" d; holds 12 oz.; Saucer: approx. 7" diameter x 1” h

- The clay and glazes are lead-free and food safe.
- My work is both elegant AND intended for your use and enjoyment. While very durable, microwavable, and dishwasher safe, handmade pottery can need (and happily, deserves) a little more love to prolong its life than contemporary manufactured ware: Because of the abrasive nature of dishwashing detergent, which could eventually dull the surface over time, hand washing is not necessary, but recommended. Do not pour boiling, stovetop water directly into handmade ware. “Pre-warming” your cup by swirling warm/hot tap water prior to pouring your fave hot beverage is recommended.
