Virtual Live Demo: Standing to Throw & Throwing 101 ~ Focus: Ergonomics

Standing to Throw & Throwing 101LIVE Saturday, Feb 18th, 1 -3 PM EDT. Recording available soon after w. edited closed captioning.

UPDATED--> Purchasing for the live component ends Wed, Feb 15th at 1 PM EDT.

This workshop ties into my very popular PSA: Standing to Throw & Potter Ergonomics article.

I've been standing to throw since 1995 and with the back rest designed by mentor John Glick since '96. I couldn't have continued throwing without this change plus many other pointers I've learned along the way to keep my body healthy so I could continue doing what I love. I'm excited to share what I talk about at every live workshop and have learned during my 30 years of working on the wheel.

About: This will be a presentation of my standing to throw set-up based on John Glick's methods as well as a demo on basic throwing skills including pointers for good ergonomics on the wheel. I will throw both cups/ cylinders and bowls as examples.

Discussions will include dos & don't for standing, suggestions for wheel set up, wedging & working 'purposefully inefficient', favorite tools, throwing ergonomics, plus any questions y'all have during the live portion.

The Recording Page will include rudimentary drawings & dimensions of John's backrest design and the one my husband made for me as pictured.

Who this is for: Beginners to advanced throwers, and anyone interested in learning ergonomic pointers for working on the wheel. All are welcome.

Format: This informative 2 hour demo will be recorded live on Zoom with the recording made available within four days after to both the live attendees and those unable to attend. Participant audio & video will be off during the duration of the live portion with questions & convos primarily over the Zoom chat feature, which will be moderated.

Access: Each recording will be accessible for 6 months on a private Recording Page for the personal education of the purchaser*. The video recording includes the option for closed captioning which I edit for accuracy adding a couple days to the release date. The Recording Page has the video as well as links and images to items discussed during the live presentation, and the ability to leave comments & questions. So whether you attend live or later, you won’t miss a thing!

Important Note: After purchasing any of my live workshops or recordings, you will receive an email with the necessary links promptly, usually within 1-12 hours. If you do not receive an email from me within 48 hrs, there may be an issue with the email address entered at checkout or something got lost in the digital ether. Email me and add KiefferCeramics@gmail.com to your safe sender address book for any issues. Live & recorded virtual workshops are not eligible for refund.
